Will there ever be another January Travel Fest in Edmonds?

I don’t know. Rick did put on two local “talks” last month. I used to love coming to a travel class on a Saturday morning, browsing the store, etc. I think that they may feel that they have a better outreach with Monday Night Travel.

I suspect it will happen only when (if) the coffers are sufficiently replenished.

Renting the venues and all the staff time needed to prep for and run it is not 'pocket change' for anyone not named Bezos or Musk

We're looking at how we can bring this event back, though as you can suspect at this point we don't have a travel festival planned for January 2024. For 2023, we did an all-online event back in January as a pseudo replacement for the travel festival/"test drive a tour guide" half of the event, but not the "reunion" half. I can confirm that we don't see Monday Night Travel as a replacement.

We do intend to bring the guides back in town at some point in the next year or so, but there is nothing official to announce at this time, and we likely won't announce anything for some time.

In summary, don't lose hope, but don't expect anything in the near future either. I'd look for something in the late summer or early 2025.
