My husband and I are flying to Dublin at the end of September for 9 days. Two of those days are travel days. Should we spend the entire time in Dublin, or travel to other parts and stay the night? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I would consider that enough time to do at least one other stop. Do you want to stick to train/bus?
We don't want to rent a car, so a train or bus would be great.
We rented a car, but before we settled on that, I did some research into what kinds of small tours operate out of Galway. Galway is easy to reach with public transport.
I would pick up a guide book and google "Ireland 9 day itineraries" to get some ideas for what would appeal to you, as there are many options.
Great idea. Thank you!
Kilkenny is 1.5 hrs by train from Dublin and is amazing. It’s the oldest medieval city in Ireland with a beautiful castle you can tour.
We watch YouTube travel videos of all the places we’re considering, then all the places within 2-4 hrs from a place we’ve decided to visit. Really helpful to us to decide vs hearing about or reading about places. And always more helpful to us than RS travel videos.
If you start watching one and don’t like the style or the host, try another one.
For Ireland, i recommend watching Wolter’s World travel videos on YouTube.
Thank you. I'll check out those videos.
