While I’m waiting out a thunderstorm in Stresa, Italy, I’ll share and also ask which RS free classes have been the most helpful for you?
Two come to mind for me; they’re available to view on the RS website in case you don’t live near Edmonds, WA.
Traveling with Technology Devices by Kevin Williams. I have T-Mobile, so several of his hints weren’t needed, but I am really loving The TripIt app that he mentioned. I loaded everything into it the week before I left, and even that process helped solidify exact plans needed for a couple of items where I just I included a note in the day to make sure I catch a specific train time for ones that run less often. The app notified me the night before my flight that the time changed slightly (never received notice from Delta). The app was easy to share with a few family members, so they know any details they might want. The app was EASY to use. Two thumbs up!
Packing Light & Right - Sarah Murdoch. I almost used her Ultralight Challenge backpack for this trip. My items were at 10 pounds packed. But, I decided to take my regular carry-on to be able to bring a nice pair of shoes for some events I’m attending. (Luckily I did. The attendees at last night’s concert in Stresa would compare with very formal wedding attire in the US. The Italians know how to dress up!). Sarah’s travel tips have been helpful for each category of packing items (clothes, etc.) along with forum contributors.
