I am planning a return trip to Turkey in May specifically to take balloon ride in Capadoccia. Wondering peoples experience doing same this time of the year. RS book does not elaborate on typical weather in Turkey beyond Istanbul.
The time that I was in Cappadoccia in May, there was an evening or two of snow flurries, but also lots of sunny, temperate hiking weather. The balloon rides do operate year-round. weather.com and similar web sites can also give you some historical data, if you poke around there.
May and June are both good as far as weather goes in Cappadocia. The days warm up early and the nights are chilly enough for a sweater or light jacket. Unfortunately rain is unpredictable and could affect the balloon rides which are very popular. They are fun and you won't want to miss it.
