Water bottle fill-up

I'm leaving for the Best of Germany tour in less than 2 weeks (!!!). Very excited, and happy to know I can bring my own water bottle to fill up with tap water. However, I've been wondering how easy it is to refill. I have a 32oz that I usually use for water. Big, but perfect for an all day outing. However, might be tricky getting it under faucet in rooms to fill. I have another closer to 16 oz. Lighter to carry in my backpack, not as bulky, but wouldn't be enough to get through the day.

How easy is it to fill up with tap water while out and about? For veteran travelers, what would you recommend? I know I could always find a place to buy bottled water, but would prefer to stay away from plastics as much as possible.

The bus driver usually has water on the bus. You can fill up there. Without seeing the type of faucet, don’t know how to advise you.

Not done the Germany tour, but on the Greece and Italy tours had no problem refilling a smaller bottle during the day.

Really wouldn't want to lug around 2+ lbs of a qt bottle, but this might solve the how to fill it from the hotel sink--

Our tour driver had small bottles of water on the bus for purchase, not a way to fill your own.

Thank you for your responses. I love the creative problem solving in filling a water bottle in the room - auto parts weren't on my radar. At all, haha!

Rooms generally have cups. Alternatively you can pack one of those collapsible ones.

If your room has a bathtub 🛁, you shouldn’t have a problem with the larger bottle. One of the benefits of getting water on the tour bus is that it is cold 🧊🥶!

Water is heavy. I’d suggest bringing the smaller bottle. Think about how much water you will need between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. You will have the opportunity to drink water at every meal. You will have the opportunity to refill your bottle. In the worst case, you can buy a bottle of water.
Do you really want to lug around a big heavy bottle?
