Village tour

Loved the Village Tour of Italy and wonder if anyone felt any other RS tour (in another country) was comparable, though no other RS tour is advertised as such?

In this year's printed tour catalog (but not yet on the web site), we have termed some tour itineraries as "Cultural Connections," while others are Signature Tours, City Getaways, Family Tours, and My Way Independent Tours. The others on the Cultural Connections list, that you might find more similar to Village Italy, include Eastern France, Sicily, South Italy, Basque Country, Portugal, Bulgaria, Turkey, and the new tours to South England and Switzerland. Too much choice, I know.

The eastern France tour used to be called "Villages and Vineyards" which was a bit of a misnomer. It went to smaller cities and was charming. Visited many vineyards which was great including an outside lunch at the home of one of the vintners. Now the tour ends in Marseille rather than Villefranche sur-Mer which is a beautiful little town. I think the tour provides small town experiences as well as some interesting history and patrimony of France. I wouldn't mind taking again.
