Village Italy Tour Restaurants Reservations

We are taking our third RS tour...Village Italy in April. I'd love to hear restaurant recommendations for the towns we are visiting? Where did you have the best meal on your tour (not asking about the group meals!)

Most of my dinners on the tour last June were spur of the moment, but I do have two recommendations for Lucca, which is on the tour and which my husband and I visited in the fall. First, Canuiela, which has a pretty garden with tables and umbrellas, and smaller inside dining rooms. I booked both dinners by stopping by in the afternoon but they do have a website. Second, Osteria da Pasqualino Gubitosa, which I reserved by email months ahead from a link on the website. The owner is a wine lover and delights in pairing wines with the creative, beautifully executed dishes. I think of both menus as elevated, elegant regional food. Delicious but not cheap. Hope this is helpful.

Well it’s been a bit but we had two fantastic dinners. The first was in Montefalco where we ate at Enoteca L’ Alchimista which was right on the main town square. While having our dinner the winemaker of the wine we’re having that night stopped by with his daughter to say hello. It was a short walk from our hotel. The next recommendation is for Orvieto. Restorante Grotte del Fuaro nuova. If you like meat this is a great place. While we walked right in to the restaurant in Montefalco we did make a reservation in Orvieto by stopping in the afternoon of our dinner. I am sure the hotels you are staying can make reservations. We visited in 2017 but I do see both restaurants are still open.

Enjoy where ever you end up eating!

Thanks for the wonderful suggestions. I’ve already made reservations at two of these!
