Unable to process payment

Not sure if anyone on the Travel Forum hails from Australia, that may have an answer (or not from OZ and still be able to assist!)

We are trying to book our first Rick Steves' tour and have filled out all the required details, however, our credit card is not accepted at the final step.
We note that when we are asked which state, naturally none apply, so we select "NONE". This then throws our address out of sync to show "international", which is possibly why it will not accept the card.

We are wanting to book asap to take advantage of the $200 savings, so any suggestions as to how we can book would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Lynn

If you have the ability to make international phone calls on your phone plan, just give the office a call and let them process it by phone.

Agree with Margaret, the office is extremely helpful and will go out of their way to get you what ever you need. You can also e-mail the office if needed. Hope you enjoy your RS tour, we went on the RS Venice, Florence & Rome trip in May and it was even better than we hoped it would be!

You may also want to notify the card issuer that you are making an international purchase. Not sure about Australia, but the US card issuers block most foreign charges by default and you have to let them know so they will allow the transaction.

Wait until it is Monday morning here (Seattle, in Pacific time zone) before you call. The office is not open on Sunday.

Here is the contact info, including office hours. You may want to start by emailling them. At least that way, you're on record for trying to book before the Nov. 30 deadline.

Thanks all for you suggestions & advice. I've emailed them & will schedule a call when our times align ( that will be around 6am our Tuesday when it will be 9am Seattle time!)

Lynn,
Just out of curiosity, what tour are you planning to take? I am going on the 7 Days in Rome tour next March, my 4th trip with RS.

Enjoy!

Lynn,

I've never had that problem booking from Canada, but not sure why an Australian card would be blocked. Hopefully after the office opened on Monday, the problem was resolved?

Glad to hear that it all worked out for you.

There was a woman from Australia on my last tour and all I can say is that's a long way to go to get to Europe.

September will be here before you know it. Have a great time!
