Two Beds on the Tours?

Is it possible to guarantee two beds/double on the tours? I would like to go with my best friend, but we've made it 24 years without sharing a bed and would like to keep it that way. :)

Yes, you can request twin beds. This is done all the time. For example, RS Tours will pair two single strangers together as room mates and they certainly don’t expect them to be in the same bed!

Wonderful! Thank you.
And with that, we're off to Greece. :)

Actually, that’s exactly what happened on our RS tour of Germany-Austria-Switzerland a couple of years ago. Two single women (who didn’t know each other) agreed to be roommates so they wouldn’t have to pay the singles supplement. One hotel had two twin beds, but pushed together to make the equivalent of a king-sized bed. They had to drag the beds apart and redo the bedding. It turned out OK, but at first they were mortified!

Yes, you can request twin beds. My friend and I had twin beds on the Greece tour in May 2022.

That is not uncommon. When I’ve shared on RS tours, there have always been two separate beds, but occasionally the hotel has them pushed close together (they will be made up separately). You can push them apart if you don’t want to be so close.

It helps to get 2 separate beds if you are among the first to sign up for a particular tour date tho.
In 2019 we were among the last to sign up for an end of August tour (Rick put the tour on sale last minute, $500 off) and by then our only bed option was double, rather than twins. We have always been leery of being given a double bed rather than 2 twins as we are tall people.
