Does anyone know of a tour company that has family or grandparent tours that allow triple occupancy with one adult and 2 children? Thanks.
Three women roomed together on one of the Rick Steves tours I took, so I assume 1 adult and 2 children would be allowed if they meet the age requirements.
I’ve been on Rick Steves tours with three people in a room (all of us were adults). You just have to state that when you sign up. Sometimes it’ll be a double with a cot thrown in but since it’s two children that wouldn’t be bad at all. Sometimes we got the best room of the group to accommodate us. You never really spend much time in your room.
Some of the hotels they use on various tours have triple and/ or family rooms. My daughter, son-in-law and my two grandkids have been on several RS tours with me and had very nice accommodations for each one. You do have to be clear about what you want when you sign up. You may even want to call the tour office before signing up so they can tell you exactly how to go about signing up for what you want. I have always found them to be wonderfully helpful and accommodating.
It is not unusual for a group of three to be on a Rick Steves Tour. I can think of a grandmother, 2 grandchild combo on my Paris Heart of France tour a few years ago. Sometimes their rooms were big, and sometimes they seemed like nothing but beds, but each hotel was prepared for them. As the others have said, the trick is to make sure that RS knows when you are signing up.
Wow. Thanks for the fast replies. I understand now that just because triple occupancy isn’t offered on a tours site, doesn’t mean it’s not possible. I’ll have to wait for the 2023 RS tours to be listed to see if one of his tours would work. Thanks for everyone’s help.
We usually travel with three people on Rick's tours. Not all tours allow triples, for example ....Best of Scotland. Look at the bottom of the tour you're interested in under hotels and it will say if triple rooms aren't allowed.,
