Travelers going on the Loire to the South of France in 13 Days Tour May 8-May 20.

Well we are scheduled to do this tour starting on May 8th. Anyone else currently on the forum going on this tour? We did the BOE 21 day tour last year and someone created a thread to meet others who were signed up for the same trip. It was really interesting and exciting chatting with people before the trip started. Since this was our first overseas trip it was very informative on what to take, what not to take, what to expect, and other great information. So hopefully someone surfing this forum are on this trip.

Hi, There
My husband, John, and I are on the May 8- 21 tour of Loire and South of France.
We live in Colorado.
Our first night we are staying by the CDG airport and were thinking of finding some additional tour members to get a shuttle to Chartres!

Hi Carole! We aren't signed up for this one but ARE doing the Best of Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna for the Christmas Markets starting Nov 27-Dec 4! It's the last half of your GAS tour so i'll be excited to see your reviews!

Bea we will be in Normandy/Paris for a week before the tour starts. I am not sure how the shuttle is from the airport to Chartres but I know that the trains in France are great. Very comfortable and low cost. I will be glad to give you the information on what train we are planning on taking (have not gotten the exact information yet).

Kathy so glad that you took the plunge and decided to do the new Munich to Vienna tour, will definitely let you know how that portion of the GAS tour is when we go September/October. Since we are planning on doing a Germany Christmas Market tour in winter 2017 I will be waiting to hear your report on this portion when you return. Have a great time, which I know you will. I am not going to say take some pictures because I know you, only 8 days you will have at least 1000 or 2000.

Well I thought I would add something on to this thread to see if anyone else that is signed up for this tour is out there. Have heard from one person (Bea) but hopefully there are more people out there.

OK we are only 5 weeks from this tour starting and I thought I would bring this up the list a little. I hope there are others who are going on this tour. We are definitely looking forward to this. We will be in France a week before so leaving 4 weeks from tonight. Hope to see other people on this tour on the forum.

I took this tour 5 years ago (back then it began in Paris instead of Chartres and was a couple days longer), but mostly its still the same. If you have any questions, please let me know. It was an amazing time!

Hello not on your tour. Enjoy. I don't think many people know about this forum. It is not easy to find especially from a phone. It is too bad RS's people do not promote it better. Maybe in the documents you receive after booking a tour? Just a thought. Enjoy

My husband and I will be taking the same tour June 26 to July 8. When you come back, I'd love to hear your comments.

Carole,
I know you are getting so close now! This tour is on "my list"......of course, so are 13 other RS tours.......
Remember when we did our tour last spring? I think there were only a handful of people on our tour that participated in the message boards. Looking forward to hearing about your trips in 2016!

Hi Carole,
Enjoy your trip! This tour is on my list so I hope you write up your experiences. I am going on the Best of Italy in 17 days tour in October and can't wait. RS tours are the best! Also interested in the Munich, Salzburg tour and GAS as well. One of the posters mentioned those in this thread. I'm still working so one trip a year for me.
I have heard that Malcolm Miller does the tour of Chartres and that he is phenomenal.
Happy travels!

Kathy we are so ready, we leave a week from today. I have found only one other person on this forum that is on the same trip. We are so close we can check the weather for our first week in Bayeux/Paris. I plan on trying to do a trip report when we get back. Judy we are taking the GAS tour in Sept/Oct this year (Kathy is waiting for details of the later part of that tour for her Munich, Salzburg, Vienna trip). As Kathy mentioned earlier there were 5 of us on the forum before the tour which was nice to finally meet the people we had been chatting with.

Bea I hope you have figured out your plans when you arrive in Paris before the tour. We are taking the 12:09 train out of Gare-Montparnasse arriving around 1:25 on the 8th. This will give us plenty of time to get to the hotel, have lunch and enjoy the town before meeting up with everyone at 5:00. See you on May 8th.

Judy our tour guide is Virginie More, I hear she is fantastic also.
