Travel Paris-Reims for Eastern France Tour

Hello RS Fans and tour members; According to RS France Guidebook and to our Eastern France Tour documents/tips/info etc, it appears that express trains Paris-Reims (or Reims-Paris) are only into/out of Gare de L'Est. However, there are also express trains, only slightly longer duration (just about 10 minutes) into/out of Gare de Lyon. So when searching for a train that fits your timetable, be sure to put "Paris" in the "from" (or "to") bar, rather than specifying a station, so that you will see both/all options.

We are spending a couple days in Paris, pre-tour, and then looked for a morning express train to Reims on Sunday 10/11 (starting day of the tour). It appears that morning express trains go into and out of Gare de Lyon, while afternoon express trains go into /out of Gare de L'est. Hope that is helpful info for someone out there!

Might also post this under "Transportation."

I took this tour a couple years ago and took the train directly from Paris CDG airport to Reims. It was very easy. I loved this tour! Enjoy!

There definitely aren't any direct trains to Reims from Orly airport - there is no train station there. Just a metro station and Orlyval and tram and bus stops.

I am curious about this supposed train to Reims from the Gare de Lyon. Have never heard of that.

WELL THAT EXPLAINS IT ! Of course the only time in my life I have ever needed the train schedule for Paris-Reims was for Saturday 10/10 and Sunday 10/11. Never did it occur to me to check other dates, I just noticed that the trains on Sunday morning 10/11 only went out of Gare de Lyon. Sorry for the false alarm everyone! Carry on with your travel plans out of Gare d'Est as listed in the RS Guidebook (unless, of course, you also will need to be on a train into Reims from Paris on the morning of 10/11 while Gare de L'est is closed . .. )
