Travel Insurance Question

We usually purchase the travel insurance when doing a RS tour. Next year, we are considering doing two back-to-back trips, where we'll finish one trip and immediately fly to another city to start another tour the next day. My question is, how do people handle travel insurance with that? Do you purchase one policy to cover the entire trip, or do you purchase separate policies for each trip?

Thanks
Bruce

When you price travel insurance, it's one trip. You put in the dates and the country you technically spend the most amount of time in. Look at a variety of policies. Squaremouth is a great place to start your research.

If you buy two separate policies, you might have a gap in coverage between the two tours (assuming you have scheduled a day or two or three between the tours.) What if you trip and break a bone on your “day off?” So you should buy one policy that covers all the days between the day you leave home and the day you return. One longer policy might well be less expensive than two shorter policies.

Buying an annual plan might be a good idea. I find this less expensive than individual policies and it covers me anytime I travel more than 100 miles from home for a full year. For instance, I got COVID in Philadelphia and missed a couple of pre-paid activities. My Allianz annual plan reimbursed me.
