Travel Insurance-Buy through Rick Steves (AIG) or look elsewhere?

I will be on my first RS tour coming up in October this year, I looked into the travel insurance from the link provided on the RS website. It is AIG, has anyone used this company? I have purchased insurance through other companies in the past AXA and FlexiPax. Used the AXA and had a good experience getting refunded for canceled flight and minor medical issue. Just wondering about anyone that has experience with AIG.

Thank you.

No AIG experience, but I have had positive results with Allianz. If you travel very much, you may want to consider an annual travel policy with Allianz. Do some price comparisons and see if this might match your needs.

I've had a good experience with AIG. You may also want to look at other options -- if you go to squaremouth.com you can customize the type of policy coverage you are looking for and compare plans and pricing from a number of different companies. That's the site I usually use and it's been a great tool.

FYI
For many policies, it's important to buy the travel insurance within about two weeks of the first trip deposit, if you want pre- existing conditioned coverage.
Have a great trip, and safe travels!
