Transportation from Bled to Vienna

My wife and I will be taking the April 29 Best of Eastern Europe Tour. After the tour ends we plan to travel to Vienna for a few days before returning home. We are thinking of taking a taxi or van as train travel will take significantly longer. There appear to be two choices, Ondaytrip and GoOpti. Has anyone used either of these companies? Are there other options that might be better?

Also, if anyone who will be on this tour is also heading to Vienna, we'd be interested in sharing a ride using one of these services.

I hope this information is in time to be helpful!

We just got back from Eastern Europe on the day you left. From Bled to Vienna we tried via GoOpti and it was great: efficient, and good value. I urge you to try it. We paid 100 euros for the two of us, and we selected the 4 hour window option. That started with a possible pickup between 6:45 and 10:45, but when it came down to it, we were notified a couple of days in advance that our pickup would be at 9 a.m. The door-to-door transportation was terrific, and the ride was very comfortable.

Good luck.

Just to be sure that we're on the same page: Train connections from Lesce Bled station to Vienna take 5.5 hours with a connection at Villach. Meanwhile, Google Maps estimates drive time at a minimum of 4 hours, if no delay. Is that the comparison you're making?

Hi,

I just wanted to second the comments made about GoOpti. I used them in 2014 from Venice to Lake Bled. It was 50 Euros, if I recall, and they had to pick up some people at the Venice Airport (my pick up was at Piazzale Roma) and then drop them off at Ljubliana. The driver took me to Lake Bled last and dropped me off right in front of my hotel!

GoOpti was recommended by tour guides mentioned on Rick's program and also in his guidebook of Croatia and Slovenia, Tina and Saso. I don't recall their last names. Anyway, it was an excellent recommendation and I would use GoOpti again if I needed to.
