I'm interested in taking the best of Venice, Florence, and Rome tour. I understand there's a deposit required to secure the reservation. Just wondering how the rest of the amount is divided and collected? Thanks!
This should be helpful (under "When and how should I pay the remainder of my tour balance?"):
https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-help/tours-faq
"The remaining balance for your tour is due 60 days prior to departure. You can make this payment by calling the tour department at 425-608-4217 to provide your MasterCard, Visa or American Express details. Please do not email credit card information. We also accept personal checks (US bank accounts only), bank drafts or money orders in US dollars (US or Canadian banks only), and wire transfers."
In addition to the above reply you can mail in with the little ticket on the bottom of your invoice you receive a check to pay the balance. If you do this you will receive a discount. This is how we pay as the discount for paying by check is enough for us to want to pay that way instead of by CC. Pay whichever way makes most sense to you and is most comfortable for you. Would we pay by check to other organizations instead of CC? Probably not.
It's a 2% discount if you make your final payment by check. Sounds like a good deal to me!
In my case I will take the convenience of the CC as I get 2 1/2 % rewards on all purchases so I will even end up a little bit on the plus side.
Some cards offer 3% back on travel. I believe that both the citi costco card and chase sapphire cards fall into this category.
