Does anyone have experience with getting their Tour Kit shipped into Canada since the changes in the de minimus amounts? Were duties, taxes, and/or other fees imposed?

I can’t speak to the tour kits but this week I received an item (from an artist based in Europe but who ships from the US) that was valued at $100 Cdn. I wasn’t charged duty; only GST and the processing fee by Canada Post.

The tour kit is composed of a guide book, ear plugs, a luggage tag and money belt. Maybe $50 worth? I guess I’m naive but I can’t imagine there being much in fees, etc., imposed on that. Check with the RS tour office.

We live in BC and had our tour kit shipped last month. We purchased one additional item from the store, worth $60 USD. There were no additional duties, taxes, or other fees added, and no issues with shipping. Hope it's the same for you.

The "de minimus situation' has to do with IMPORTS to the USA, not exports. Unless Canada took some action regarding imports from the USA I suspect nothing has changed from whatever it was.

We got our tour kit plus a book and some compression bags and were charged around $5 in duties. Maybe on the extra book? Maybe it wasn’t duty we were charged but taxes? I don’t remember - just know there was an extra charge.
