Tour from Munich that combines Neuschwanstein Fussen and Zugspitze

Trying to find a tour leaving from Munich that would go the Neuschwantsein Castle and also the Fussen area and the cable car in Eibsee to go up to Zugspitze. Even if it is overnight. Wondering if something like this exists? Or if I have to try to take two separate day tours...

I'm just trying to figure out if I have to take two separate tours, or if anyone would know of a tour company that offers one trip that combines seeing Neuschwanstein Castle, the Fussen area, and going up to Zugspitze via the cable car or another means. These are places that have been highly suggested, but the person who told me about them was driving on their own, and I will not have a car. Hoping someone sees my post who has done something similar to this.

Even if it's just a tour that combines Neuschwanstein and Zugspitze, I'd be interested to know what tour company, etc.

Thank you all!
Julie

I wish you luck in your quest - I've not heard of an all encompassing tour like that.

You could take a regular Fussen-Neuschwanstein tour, and visit the Zugspitze on your own. It is easy to do by train: Munich central station to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, changing there to the Grainau train to Eibsee Zugspitzbahn, where you board the cablecar. The journey is a little over 2 hours to the cablecar station. Use Bahn.de to plan the route and see the schedules.

One thing you should keep in mind is that the Zugspitze can cloud up later in the day. Whenever you go up the Zugspitze, wherever you stay the night before, and however you travel, you should try to make sure you go up early in the day, or you might be disappointed in the view.

I know of no tour that combines both Neuschwanstein and the Zugspitze, although to do both places justice, it would probably have to be an overnight tour.

Instead of trying to find two separate day tours, have you considered just doing the tour on your own? You will undoubtedly save a lot of money that way. Do the first day as a tour of Neuschwanstein from Munich. If you buy a Bayern-Ticket, you can come out on the train to Füssen and the ticket will also cover the bus from Füssen to the Hohenschwangau bus stop. After your tour, the Bayern-Ticket will also cover the bus from Hohenschwangau to Oberammergau. I think Oberammergau would be a less expensive overnight than Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which tends to be on the pricey side, as long as you are going after the Passion Play richterconcludes, which is Oct 4. I would try to stay here. It's relatively inexpensive for Oberammergau, close to the bus station, and Frau Richter speaks English.

The next morning there are a number of 45 min bus connections to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Bahnhof. The bus stops in front of the station and the train to Eibsee leaves from the adjacent Zugspitzebahn station. If you don't mind getting to the GaP Bahnhof at 10:15, you can wait until 9:30 to leave Oberammergau and use another Bayern-Ticket, which you can use for the train back to Munich. Otherwise, for a few euro more, you can just pay for the bus to GaP and leave earlier.
