Reading the weekly trip reports it seems as some people tested positive for Covid mid-trip. I was curious if there is testing required while on the trip. Does anyone know?
I doubt it is required but if one is ill then I’d hope that individual would test themselves or get one done at a pharmacy. We plan on taking several test kits with us just in case we get sick, and to test ourselves in advance of our required test to return home.
Try calling their office.
I don’t think it was that because the post said no symptoms.
Are you going to be on a tour or on your own? Some test during the trip so there is not a surprise at the end. Or in the case of asymptomatic folks, it may be a good idea to test 5 days before you want to leave. If the result is positive then you can start the 5 day clock towards getting the certificate of recovery.
I will be on a tour just wondering why testing during the trip. If there were some kind of requirement.
There's no requirement for ongoing testing if no symptoms, as far as I know. Review the "Our Tours" link on this website to see what testing, if any, is required, or call or e-mail the office. That's a better source of information than the miscellaneous travelers who frequent this forum.
I haven’t had good luck with that strategy so hoping people who actually attend tours would know.
I just returned from the Best of Sicily tour. The only testing required for the tour was the one within 48 hours of its start.
If someone on the tour feels ill and self tests as they are requested to do, and they test positive, the people who have been in close contact also test. The guide brought self tests to check those people. We had this happen on our tour. Fortunately no one else was positive.
