We are booked on the Best of Switzerland in 12 days tour starting on June 3 2025 and are wondering if we need to purchase a Swiss Travel pass or not. We are leaning toward not purchasing it as we will be on the tour for so much of our time in
Switzerland.

To be clear, we will spend a day in Zurich and 3 days in Lucern prior to the tour and just a day in Zurich following the tour.

It depends what you plan to do during that time in Zurich and Lucerne. A regional pass for Lucerne might be a better option. Or the Half Fare Card, which is a monthly pass. You’ll need to price out the travel from Zurich to Lucerne, plus whatever trips you plan to take in Lucerne.

I’d recommend the half fare card and you could use anytime during your tour
and pre/post for a small fee.
