Suggestions for Palermo hotel...

We (2 adults) are going on the RS Best of Sicily Tour in April.
We will arrive in Palermo early and need a hotel for 3 nights before the tour starts at Hotel Ambasciatori.
I have emailed Hotel Ambasciatori and they do not have any rooms. Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks!

Do the staff at Rick Steves have the ability to get you a room a few days in advance of your tour? They may be able to make it happen for you.

Staff at RS probably won't get you a room, but they may have recommendations. You could check with booking dot com for available hotels. Their reviews are reliable. Palermo may have a hotel close enough for you to walk to the tour hotel.

We found A Casa di Anna for our pre Sicily Tour! The young owner, Giuseppe and his uncle, Giuseppe were fantastic. It actually is two or three doors away from the RS Hotel. Grat Location.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and advice. After checking around, it seems to me that hotel rates increase around mid April-I guess it is their busy season. Anyway, we have decided to stay at Palazzo Pantaleo, a B&B not too far-(walking distance) from the Ambasciatori. This B&B was suggested by someone on another thread and is also listed in the Lonely Planet guidebook from the RS store. It is also rated high in Trip Advisor, so I'll let you know how it is after our trip!

Hi Texas Girl -- If you have the chance would you be able to let me know how you enjoyed the Palazzo Pantaleo? Have seen nice reviews on TA and am thinking of booking there so your experience would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes! I would recommend Palazzo Pantaleo! We stayed there 3 nights and it was fabulous! We stayed in a double room-very spacious-in a great location with walking distance to many sites. Giuseppe is a great host and gives good advice for places to see. He also has bottles of water in the mini-fridge for free which he replaces daily. The breakfast is also good. This is a great place to stay when visiting Palermo.

Hey Chani,
Thanks!
We are in Taormina right now-on to Catania tomorrow-the last part of the RS Sicily Tour.
We have had a fabulous time! We have a pizza making demo and dinner tonight-and wine, of course! This has been a great experience-learning a lot and have made lots of new tour buddy friends!
