Since this is on the Ghent part of the tour, I thought folks taking the Holland/Amsterdam tour might be interested:

Wow! Thanks, Mike,
Thanks. Will check it out when I take the tour next year. Already signed up and looking forward to it.
Hey Ray,
Which dates are you going on?
-- Mike
Wonderful information. When I saw it in 2014, two of the panels were out being restored and I think maybe one or two more were scheduled to be done. It was still amazing but would love to see it again with all of the panels restored.
Will be there 9/20. Wanted to go earlier, but juggling it with other things I wanted to do. Looking forward to it! (I am too lazy to look this up, but wasn't this one of the big saved pieces in the movie "Monuments Men?")
Yes it is a treat and we enjoyed it on our RS tour in april 2016. Our local guide was good and funny. When we were outside it cathedral our guide said "We Belgiums thank Mr. George Clooney for bringing back the Ghent Altarpiece back to us". Joking about the movie Monuments Men. We got a chuckle out of his humor.
Interesting. I saw it at the cathedral in 2015 and could swear all of the panels were on display but maybe I'm having (yet another) senior moment.
