Showing Covid test to guide before group meeting

Greetings,

I believe I've seen a comment or two indicating that tour participants will meet privately with the guide to provide evidence of negative Covid tests. Does this happen before the scheduled start of the group meeting or during? Just wondering if we need to be back at the hotel early. It could be a factor if we're buying advance tickets or doing a side trip earlier in the day.

Cheers and thank you!

it might differ from tour to tour. For ours in June the get-together initial meeting was at 5pm and on the daily itinerary posted at the front desk it said to meet the guide in the hotel library at 4pm to show the test.

I suspect it will be fine to wait until the meeting if you can't get there at an earlier moment.
I don't think it's particularly "private" (my tour wasn't) because we all want to be assured that all the other tour members are following the guidelines.

Each of my 2 tour guides (May and June) posted the Day 1 itinerary in the hotel lobby with the group meeting time and indicating they would be at the meeting point 30 minutes early to check vaccination cards and tests.

Thanks for the information! We'll just make sure we're back at the hotel at least an hour before the meeting, which we probably would have done, anyway.
