Share Taxi to Geneva? Re: Alps Tour ending in Chamonix 6/17/16

Does anyone want to share a taxi to Geneva Airport from Chamonix, France after My Way Alps tour on June 17, 2016? Taxi is $225 for one to four people. Shuttle is cheaper, but takes longer.

Thanks!

Your tour escort will help arrange transportation from Chamonix to Geneva (or elsewhere). As I recall, most people took the shuttle to Geneva. I think its a direct shuttle, so I'm not sure how much time a taxi would save. I decided to take the train the other direction (around the lake) through Montreaux and Lausanne, before ending in Geneva.

Thanks Eric. I wasn't sure if the shuttle picked up people throughout Chamonix and added too much time. Also, I wondered if I had to book a seat on the shuttle now just to be certain I'd get a spot.
That train trip around the lake sounds beautiful :-) Eileen

I was on this tour in 2013. The guide took down everyone's flight information and then worked with the hotel to arrange shuttles. The shuttles were full of our tour group members so there were no stops at other hotels to pick up other passengers. I believe the first shuttle left at 7 am, mine left around 10 am for a 2 pm flight, it was a direct trip to Geneva airport, as I recall the cost pp was 45 euros. The shuttles were large vans and not buses. Enjoy the tour, one of my favorites. The mountains just keep getting higher as your tour progresses.

eileen,

As an earlier reply mentioned, your tour director will arrange post-tour transportation for group members. Using one of the van shuttles will be the easiest and most cost effective method, and they will drop you right at the airport. Train is not really a good option unless you're going somewhere else after the tour.

Thanks so much to all of you. I wasn't sure how far in advance I needed to organize transportation. Ray, How exciting to hear the mountains just keep getting bigger. I'm on my own for traveling, so I appreciate all your support. I guess I'm a little anxious, trying to get ahead of any problems. I'm so happy, though. Imagine? The Alps! Eileen
