I've seen reference to scrapbooks of RS tours. How does one access these? We're thinking of a "My Way" tour for 2018.
Thanks

Happy reading! I love going through the scrapbooks!
Thank you! I searched it, but the results weren't great. I'll enjoy going through these!
While looking for this years scrapbook entries I saw you post from October. I don't know if you are continuing to follow this thread but thought that I would offer some insights after taking the My Way Best of Europe in 14 days tour. We had taken two previous RS tours and have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed both the itineraries, the tour guide and sharing our experiences with a great group of travelers. We had kicked around the idea of trying a My Way Tour in 2018, but the Best of Europe tour went on sale! This was to be a Bucket List trip and too only thing that was not part of this tour was visiting Berlin. So we didn't wait until this year and instead changed gears to head out in September. Like I said, I highly recommend any of the RS as they are well thought out and well planned, but we felt that the My Way Tour was the best of both worlds (independent vs group travel). Since time would be limited at each stop we planned one major adventure at each city that we made reservations prior to the trip, and left time for spontaneity. We traveled with an amazing tour manager and wonderful driver. The group was diverse and very congenial. The thing that surprised us was we seemed to be the only ones on the tour that had planned ahead. The others flew by the seat of their pants and also had a great time. One of the great things about this was when we would get together ( our tour manager organized "Happy Hours" that were optional) we shared our different adventures of the day. It gave us even more insight into the area being able to "experience" by proxy things that could not be fitted into the time we had. If in doubt try it, I feel that you will be extremely happy. If you have any questions that I can help you with, PM me. I will answer any questions that I can.
Just a quick addendum: We flew into Berlin for three days before joining our group in Paris So we were able to check many adventures off our Bucket List!
Pat, thank you for your reply. We have signed up for an Alpine My Way tour in June. Since I normally plan our independent trips, I have done lots of research for this one, as well. We will go to Munich for a few days before the tour starts, then meet up with the group in Salzburg. I have planned a few things in each place. The other places are more scenery/weather dependent, so while nothing is set in stone, I have checked out the options. We were in the Dolomites 2 years ago and loved hiking in the Alpe di Siusi, so hope the weather will cooperate. Sort of the same for the other places. I'm hoping for great weather for the Swiss Alps so we can see the mountains and hike in the Alps, but know it may not always cooperate, so I'm watching out for other activities to do. I think we will enjoy the group aspect of the My Way tour, with the freedom of the days to do as we want. When the tour is over in Chamonix, we will spend 4 more nights in Switzerland, traveling from Montreux, to Fribourg (where I spent a year studying) to Zurich. Who knows, maybe after this experience, more RS tours will be in our future!
I'm glad to hear that that you are planning for a My Way tour, and it sounds like you have things well in hand. I'm sure that you will have a great time! The My Way tour was designed as a bucket list trip and we were able realize a number of our objectives. But maybe the the best part of our trip was our time in Switzerland. Although it was not on our bucket list, we thought it would be nice seeing a destination that was new to us. It turned out to be one of the best memories of the entire trip and we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to enjoy it, and would definitely consider a return trip! Enjoy!
