I know there are some of you that enjoy what others create in our scrapbook contest, so I thought you might like to know that we've posted the winners. Enjoy!
The ones I have read through were great so far, and look forward to reading more. Regardless of win or not, looked like everyone had a great trip. As a previous Rick Steves' contest winner (nothing fancy like these guys, but I cherish the autographed book I got for my winning entry!), it is always nice to partake.
That must be a tough, yet fun job deciding which scrapbooks are the winners! I enjoy browsing through the ones that are familiar places I’ve traveled to see what they enjoyed. I thought this one listed below was very well done - the quality of the photos, the Italian words added for fun, plus I especially loved the accompanying musical selection per city!

Of course, I read the scrapbook, in which Munich also plays a role.
I'm happy that the city left a positive impression. I'm also happy that what defines Munich 'a very specific attitude to life that's hard to explain' made an impression in such a short time.
And I was particularly impressed to see a photo I never would have expected. The first photo shows a small section of St. Anna Square in the Lehel district. A very desirable neighborhood. Opposite the large church shown in the photo is St. Anna Monastery. In my opinion, the monastery church is the most beautiful church in Munich (only my personal opinion) - much more so than the Asam Church, which is popular with tourists. And on the square next to the large church, a farmers' market takes place once a week. Relatively close to the Old Town, with a subway station right outside, you get the feeling of being in a village, especially on market day. And that's another reason why I love 'my' city so much.
Out of respect for one of the entrants, I decided to clear out a side chat about a misspelling that has since been fixed. Thanks, all.
I read the Best of Europe in 14 days by Darby Rhea and I didn’t want it to end. It was their first time to Europe and it captures the wonder beautifully.
I also loved the one by Darby Reas. It was very obvious that the 2nd place winner is a professional photographer and videographer.,
I enjoyed the third place entry on the Scotland tour. Tours aren't my bag, but that looks like a good way to see quite a bit of Scotland.
I read the Darby Reas scrapbook last night and there's one word that describes it - joyful. What a delight.
The tied winner, Halima Lucas, made me burst out laughing right away "Yes, I know I look like a toddler..."
Both really well done and fun to read scrapbooks.
Thank you, Webmaster. I thought those posts were unnecessary, and even mean-spirited.
This was a great year for scrapbooks!
