Before Covid, I took a Rick Steves tour to Sicily. It was fantastic! I am considering taking either the Best of Switzerland or Best of Scandinavia tour. I am in my 70s and fit enough, but not top tier. I am a solo traveler and have no problem taking a day off from the busy tour if needed.
I would love recommendations as to which tour might be the best.
Thanks!
Just wondering how you are going to take a break for the day? Maybe look at a city tour where you are always in one location and it would be much easier to take a break
The Best of Scandinavia tour covers a lot of ground on the bus. That has its pros and cons but does give you time to rest up. I don’t remember the tour as being strenuous.
You can always opt out of the activities for the day. You just need to let your guide know.
I was trying to decide between these two tours myself. I originally wanted to go to Scandinavia (friends went in August and loved it) but all the tours were full. I waitlisted on several but I hate being in limbo waiting for a spot to come available and not knowing when it might happen. Since Switzerland is on my bucket list, too, I started looking at that one. I decided since it's my first RS tour it might be better to have less time on the bus, stick to one country and a slightly shorter trip. So I’m booked to go to Switzerland next September and am planning on Scandinavia in 2026.
