Free time in Nice: French Riviera pass

During my free time in Nice in the final days of my tour in October, I was planning to do some museum hopping. I'm not a beach person after having lived in Southern California for many years, so no plans for any water/beach activities.

Thinking of purchasing the French Riviera pass, but wanted to see if the tour goes to any museums already and if this is worthwhile?

Another vote for Villa Ephrussi in Cap Ferat. Take a bus from Nice right to the property.
In Nice, Musee Marc Chagall for sure. The museum was built with the measurements for each painting taken into consideration in the blue prints.
Antibes is also very worthwhile, take a train there.

We stayed an extra night after our RS Tour. Several of us went to the Chagall & Matisse Museums. We also took the bus to Monaco for a self guided walking tour, had a celebratory lunch by the water & returned to Nice by train. Some great recommendations up thread. Lots of excellent choices!

I was in Nice this spring. It’s such a lovely place to just stroll on the promenade. The Chagall Museum is amazing! Enjoy a leisurely drink in the bar area of the beautiful hotel Le Negresco. Don’t forget to vist the outdoor market, have a taste of socca (chickpea pancake), a ratatouille Brittany style galette with hard cider at an outdoor cafe and don’t miss the famous Salad Nicoise. Even the pizza we had was perfect. Take a photo in front of the “I Love Nice” signage and walk up the hill for outstanding coastline views. We took a short bus ride to the quaint hilltop village of Eze and there’s Fragonard, an interesting perfumery right at the bottom of the village. Lovely scents to try with beautiful packaging. So much to enjoy!

Appreciate the recommendations for individual museums (already have a wish list), but are any of them already part of this Rick Steves tour? We are only there for 2 days and I'm not looking to take a train elsewhere. Has anyone else purchased this pass before? Thanks!

In case anyone's curious, the Nice tour doesn't go to any museums. Confirmed with Rick Steves HQ.
