Hi everyone-
We’re looking forward to our Best of Spain tour this summer. Can anyone share what neighborhood the tour typically stays in for the Madrid leg? We’re planning on taking the train from Sevilla to Madrid at the end of the tour to both get a few more days in Madrid as well as to get a nonstop flight home, and would love to book a hotel in roughly the same part of town that we will have been through earlier on the tour. Not concerned about literally the same hotel, but having the lay of the land in the neighborhood seems like it would put us a leg up. Thanks in advance for any insight!

As RS tours, in general, don’t always/consistently stay at the same hotels, I would suggest you to send an email or call the RS tour office. They have always been very helpful.
During our Best of Spain trip we stayed near the Puerta del sol at the Hotel Moderno. I have also stayed at the Hotel Europa which isn't very far from the Hotel Moderno. as I understand RS tours have stayed at the Hotel Europa in the past. So look for a hotel in that area.
We did a RS Spain tour years ago and stayed at Hotel Europa. We went to Córdoba after the tour and overnight at Hotel Europa before flying home. It was fine and convenient.
Close to Hotel Europa (at which I have stayed) is Hotel Liabenny. Much less hectic than being on Puerta del Sol. Join the hotel club for a 10% discount. Very close to the fantastic taqueria in RS Madrid book.
And, skip hotel breakfast and go to the wonderful cafe/bakery La Mallorquina on Puerto del Sol toward Plaza Mayor.
For our Barcelona/Madrid tour in 2022, we stayed at the H10 Villa de la Reina on the Gran Via in Madrid. Definitely in the heart of a very bustling city.
We took the Best of Spain this past summer and stayed at Hotel Moderna during the tour. Post-tour, we stayed at Catalonia Hotel Atocha. It was not near the area we stayed at during the tour because we wanted a hotel close to the train station and near the activities we wanted to do that were not covered on the tour. We enjoyed staying in a different area and getting a different feel for the city. Madrid is my favorite city in Spain!
Edit: stop in Cordoba on the way back to Madrid. It's an easy hour from Sevilla on the high speed train. We took the earliest train and had plenty of time at Mezquita-Catredal, with time for lunch and walking around the city. The Mezquita closes midday for prayer so plan your time accordingly.
