RS Athens and the Peloponnese tour--2 questions

I am giddy with excitement and a little obsessed about our pending tour.

I have two questions that I don't think I've seen answered:

When the group dines together in the evening, what time do they eat? When traveling in Europe we generally have our main meal in the early afternoon and a small snack or street food in the evening; we are not night owls. If necessary we can "train" ourselves over the next weeks to adjust to a different schedule.

Secondly, tips for the guides and drivers are covered in our payment, but there is no mention of the housekeeping staff of the hotels. We have always left a small per diem tip for the maid. Is this customary on RS tours?

The group dinners as I recall, were around 7PM. Not the 'late' dining that is more typical of many Europeans

You will definitely enjoy "Day 4".

You will love this tour - it was one of our favorites. Agree with above comments - dinner is usually no earlier than 6pm - most often between 6:30 - 7:00pm.

As far as tipping, all tips are included in the tour price. I don't know if housekeeping tips are customary in Greece - if they are, I am sure RSE includes them.

Have fun!

Dinner usually between 6-8 pm. You will love the Greece tour! Tipping isn't necessary but you can if you want to.

Thanks, Everyone!

We are very excited to be going ANYWHERE, but Greece has been #1 on our list for awhile.

Now if we can only sort out testing. . . . .

I can concur with above answers and add that it was at the top of our favorite RS Tours! FYI: We ate 3 times at Mani Mani which was our favorite restaurant in Athens. We arrived 2 days prior to the tour. Enjoy your stay!

Especially in the era of COVID, tips for service staff are not morally optional, IMO. If you can afford to travel to Europe, you can afford to tip the generally low-paid people that make your trip possible.

One of my guides told me that they "take care of" the hotel and restaurant staff, so no individual tipping is needed. On the Greece tour, the group took up a collection to buy the guide a parting gift. I don't remember if that was done on earlier tours I took.

The group lunches are pretty substantial meals. I remember at least a couple of dinners that went quite late.
