Hello, Rome2Rio gave me the idea that there was rideshare in Italy (like Uber) but I have heard Uber is not in Italy. Does anyone know what company is there.? We need a driver for Puglia. We will be staying in Monopoli and want to arrange a trip to Alberobello.

You will have to hire a driver or take the train, via Bari, I think. I've been to Puglia numerous times and never heard of a ride sharing plan.

I asked Gemini AI whether FreeNow operates in Puglia, since we plan on using that app in Rome. Gemini suggested the itTaxi app, stating that "it is a unified app that connects to the local, official white taxi fleets across Puglia's towns. Hiring a driver is what the OP is wanting to do. I looked at daytrip (https://daytrip.com) as this service has been recommended a number of times on the forums, and the rate it came up with via a dummy booking/random date was running US$372 or more (RT). Deferring to posters who've made this trip via road, do you think this is high or about right? I suppose that price covers the driver having to kick heels until the return trip.
You could also contact your accommodation in Monopoli and see what they might recommend?

It appears that there are buses to make that trip, some of them direct in about an hour. Uncoubtedly cheaper than a driver.
