I just received a copy of Rick Steves Tour Brochure. I always look forward to looking at and dreaming on where I might go next. I wish each picture in the tour brochure would have the location of where the picture was taken. I am always trying to identify the location of the picture, but have no way of know if if I am right or wrong. Just a suggestion.
I know you're not the first to say so but I think the art department considers that "clutter." Or maybe they like to maintain an air of mystery.
Oh - I am anxiously awaiting mine in the mail!!! Hurry up brochure, I loved to sit and drink a glass of wine and peruse the catalog!
Not that I need to decide where I am going, cuz, I already have my two tours booked for 2018.
I am in total agreement that knowing where the photo is taken would be a huge plus!
Around our house, it's called "the Wish Book," and its arrival is cause for celebration. Should be soon...
Laura,
If I see a picture, let's say of the Cinque Terre, and I want to go there as part of a tour and I don't know what it is a picture of, how can I know what tour to book to visit that city or area? I just makes no sense for your art department to think of it as clutter. Other tour companies include a name or description of the picture. The tour brochure is selling travel. I think it would be far more effective to let the reader know what the picture is of. I think it is time for the art department to revisit this.
Already booked my tour for next year, GAS, but still can't wait to get it!
My booklet came today as well!
I like to identify/guess the location of the photos but it would be useful to have them listed, perhaps on the back page.
Happy trails, everyone!

Laura, maybe you have a section on this site, "brochure photos". With a caption to each photo, where, what, when and some short comments.
Put a copyright © imprint on each photo and say people are allowed to use or link to them them for non-commercial use.
Ooooohhh. I knew there was something I meant to do! Well, it's ordered now
Personally, it makes no difference to me if a photo is labeled or not. It would be nice to know that all pics on a particular tour page were taken in places visited by the tour, but that is just a piece of general information. While I also will be perusing the brochure, next year is in the bag already!
still pouting that I have not received mine!! :( LOL....... It is Labor day weekend, now I have to wait til Tuesday's mail but maybe (keep fingers crossed) when I get home from work, maybe it will be in the mailbox.
I got mine today! Yay!!
Ok debra - you are in TX..... I am in OK it should be here!!! ha
My book just arrived! No time to look as I'm leaving tomorrow for London, Bayeux and Paris. Then I'll be on the Best of Paris tour followed by the Eastern France tour. I'm all packed except for last minute things I haven't thought of yet. Maybe I'll be too excited to sleep and I can peruse the options tonight. Haven't decided on next year yet.
