We're thinking of taking the RS 14 day Greece tour next March (last two weeks of March 2016). Would love to hear from anyone who has been on that tour (or has been in Greece) in the early spring about what the weather is like at that time of the year. I realize it won't be like summer and I understand it will be spring conditions, but would still like to hear first hand accounts of what to expect. Ideally we would rather go in May or June but we are tied to the school vacation calendar as my wife is a teacher. Thanks!
I took the RS Greece tour last Spring to avoid the hot weather of summer. Do you have the RS Greece guide book yet? If so, great. If not I would suggest you get one as it certainly helped with our planning and when we were there. If you need one, it can be ordered elsewhere on this web site. You can go to RS Tours listing, clicking on the Greece tour, and them clicking on Weather so get an idea of what to expect for average temperatures in March. I certainly enjoyed my stay in Greece. So much to see. Good food.
Our guide on the RS Greece tour last May lamented that more people don't come in the Spring as that is a great time to see the country.
I have been to Greece once in February and once in March-April and both times experienced quite temperate weather and lots of wild flowers blooming. I don't recall much rain, if any (versus an October visit with a memorable downpour).
Ok thanks everyone - this all sounds encouraging for a trip to Greece next March!
