Visited Vienna recently (after dreaming about it for many years!). My wife and I downloaded the Rick Steve's app, and discovered the downloadable "Vienna City Walk". We decided to give it a try on our first day in Wien and it was absolutely wonderful; the directions were very accurate and the audio was informative and often quite hilarious. Anyways, if you're visiting Vienna, I highly recommend this tour and it's absolutely free. Also did the "Salzburg Town Walk" a few days later....also excellent. Thank you Rick!

Also use his guide to the outside of St. Stephens cathedral, there are some fun things to see including a pulpit where it was OK to preach hate, not love.

I agree with Jeremy. The Vienna City Walk is excellent. Also, I rented a bicycle from a kiosk to bike Rick's route. I was charged the equivalent of maybe $10 for five hours. Bicycling the route added to the charm.
