My sister and I are taling the Best of Sicily tour in April 2026. We will arrive early for a short stay in Cefalu and an extra day in Palermo. Any restaurant suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to the Ballaro market in Palermo and have the pasta con le sarde from one of the vendors. Best pasta dish I have ever had.

Hi Margaret,
Your Rick Steves Sicily guidebook lists quite a few restaurants in both Palermo and Cefalu, all of which have been checked out by one of our researchers. I really liked Buatta Cucina Popolana in Palermo and Al Gabbiano in Cefalu. I also did a food tour with Culinary Backstreets in Palermo, which was fun and a we ate quite a bit. You will find it listed in the Tours section of the Palermo chapter.

Thanks for the tips. We always use the RS books but I thought it would be fun to see what other travelers have experienced.
