Reset the countdown

Our June tour was cancelled. We are hoping for the best and signed up for the same tour in September. Big shout out to the RS staff. Delta was just as great and changed our tickets to the new dates with no charges or fees. Now we are hoping for the world to recover...

To the RS staff - Thanks! We appreciate all you are doing right now.

Make sure you have a plan B, I would not count on being able to take the tour i September.

This is plan B! (September 2020). We are going to be optimistic. Otherwise plan C will be 2021...

You have more confidence that we do. We have a trip scheduled to Italy for Oct but will cancel in the near future when the final go/no go dates rolls around in a month or so. It is unfortunate but I just don't see much relief between now on this fall. Even if you look at the president's recent guidelines it would be late summer before everything opens up. The virus is not going anywhere and last thing I want to do is catch it in a foreign country.

We are on the same "wavelength" as Frank. We have a trip scheduled for Sicily in September but will cancel as well. Even though the president unveiled the guidelines to open States, it will be an incremental process. Access to testing, & contact tracing may be the predictor moving forward. I think about those with mild symptoms who are missed as well as asymptomatic cases. Like Frank said- "The virus is not going anywhere." Dr. Fauci continues to reiterate "The virus dictates the timeline."

I like your optimism, but make sure you have a plan C. September is still far away, but the EU entry ban may still be in place by then.

Our May tour was cancelled. Our July backup tour option (which requires a Russian VISA) was highly suspect, and so we have backed out of that. Plan C is to add a few cities to a previously planned trip in September.

I'm just starting to sketch Plan D - change all the 2020 dates to 2021 and try again. Hey, half the fun of travel is the planning anyway, So, as it relates to travel planning only (strong emphasis on only) 2020 has been a lot of "fun"!

The RS staff - WOW - what a great group of people, in good times and bad. Plan D will definitely include our RS tour!

My June 14 tour to Sicily was canceled. As much as I want to re-plan, I'm not going anywhere until this is more under control. Way too risky to be sat on a tour bus full of people. A vaccine is potentially a year away so there continues to be high risk everywhere and the potential for lockdowns and quarantines. I'm from England but live in California, I desperately want to visit my family there but with almost a 1000 people dying daily in the UK sadly going home for a visit will not be possible for a long time. Fingers crossed for my 4th RS tour in 2021!

I'm using this time to plan for my next trip. I don't know when it'll be yet, so plans are still in the 'wouldn't that be great' stage, but at least I have a lot of time to brush up on my foreign language skills between now & then!!

Fingers crossed that we're all traveling again in the near future!

I'm booked for the Best of England in September. I'm generally a 3/4 glass full kind of gal, but there's a steady leak from the bottom of my cup. I'm thinking this year may be out for RS. In Canada we're flattening our curve, but testing isn't as widely available as some other countries, so have we flattened the curve or is the tsunami on the horizon? I don't want to be wearing a mask for a transatlantic flight or tour. Nor do I want to be worried about catching something on a tour bus or during a lively dinner with new friends and tour mates. Mostly I don't want to risk the possibility of catching what could be a deadly or life altering disease in a foreign country. I've also heard that some medical insurance won't even cover you if you choose to travel while a pandemic is happening. Britain will be there in 2021, and I fervently hope RS will be there to take me.
