Reichtag ticket

We are joining the RS Best of Germany tour. I am debating whether to get advance tickets for Reichtag dome visit or wait to get it there at visitors’ center. Any advise? Thank you.

Get it in advance. It’s free, but timed, admission. If you wait there may not be time slots available.

Definitely get in advance, as you already know when you'll have free time while on the tour. When we booked our tickets at the window, they suggested going at dusk, to see the city transition from day to night - it was an excellent recommendation [we were there in October]. It would depend on how late tours are available, and how late the sun sets when you are there.

Definitely get in advance. I was there in 2021 when travel was still light due to COVID and when I got there I had to wait in line for tickets. I did get them for the evening, which was amazing and would recommend that so you can see the city lit up in lights.

I agree with the others that an advance ticket is a must. When we planned to visit there were none of the timed tickets available. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. But with further research we found that we could go to the cafe for coffee and a dessert and that reservation included entrance to the dome. I tried to find that offering now but was only able to find breakfast, dinner and before dinner drinks which obviously were more costly. But they are available if interested. We were very happy with our visit that included the snack. The point is do not wait to book your tickets because they may not be available for the time you want.

Yes. I got my tickets for a bit before sunset. I walked the dome with the audio tour while it was still light and then watched darkness fall on the city. It was super cool.

Book as soon as you can, they sell out fast. Some are held till the day and people line up in the morning -- not a good way to spend your limited time. When I tried this they had 100 tickets and the line was much longer. I ended up taking a lengthy tour of the building, which I would have enjoyed a lot more if it hadn't been in German, in order to get to the dome.
