I'm planning to go on Rick Steves Best of Portual in 13 days tour early next Spring (2027). Long story short, I'm a bit concerned about the walking part. I'm 71 years old, walk an average of 10k steps per day, I'm healthy but, I'm not 60 anymore :-). I've done 3 RS tours, they were superb! My last one was the Best of England a couple of years ago - I'm sitting here smiling about it now.
My son is a traveler, he just got back from a conference in Lisbon. He loved it - but he said "Dad, Lisbon is like San Francisco. LOT's of hills". I know San Francisco well.....so thought I'd throw this question out to the group to see who might have taken this tour, and get a bit of feedback. Are there breaks between the hills and the stairs? Is this trip more strenous than others?
