Hello -- We will be on the 14 day Best of Eastern Europe tour in June. For those of you who have done this tour, do you remember approximately what time your tour activities ended in Prague on Day 2? The schedule says there will be a tour of the Castle area in the morning, and that we are free for lunch and exploring on our own in the afternoon. I was thinking of trying to either schedule a tour or purchase advance tickets to see the Jewish Quarter, and am trying to figure out what my start time would be in order to get a quick lunch and make it back to Old Town. Does 2:00 sound about right? Could I schedule something earlier?

Hi Ruth, I don't remember the exact time we ended the tour of the castle area, but it seems to me that it was fairly early, like right around lunch time. I think your 2PM time frame should be fine. I wonder if you call the tour department if they might be able to help give you a more precise time. It's a great tour, have fun.

I remember walking from the castle to lunch and then down the hill. Seems like the tour might have ended 11:30-noonish. We choose to walk back from the tour, but I know there were other options that might have been faster; I just don't remember what they were. 2:00 sounds reasonable to schedule something.

They've changed the itinerary since I took the tour, but if they say free for lunch, a 2 p.m. tour time will likely be ok. Tell your guide at your welcome meeting what your plans are so they can help you plot out efficient transport. Depending on when you're arriving in Prague, you may be able to do the Jewish tour before the trip starts.

Thanks, everyone -- I will check in with the tour office.
We are arriving in Prague (from Vienna and Cesky Krumlov) Thursday evening. Friday my Family has a tour of Terezin with Pavel Batel. Saturday the Jewish Quarter sights are closed. The only other time I would have available is Sunday morning, but we will need to be checking out of our Little Quarter B&B and moving across town to the tour hotel, so my time on Sunday will be limited, as well. I didn't want to be checking my watch and worrying about getting back on Sunday, so I figured Monday was the best time.
It's good to know a 2 pm start would probably work!
