Prebooking advice for RS My Way France 9/16-28.

I've made some reservations through Viator for tours in Paris. Now I'm looking at the rest of the route since Rakuten has 10x bonus on Viator today.

Our stops after Paris are:

Amboise in the Loire Valley, Lyon, Annecy, Avignon (possible day trip to Arles) and ends in Nice. We then go to Geneva for 3 nights before flying home.

Any thoughts for hiking, biking, food tours, walking tours, etc,?

Thank you.

We took a day tour to Arles which we much preferred over Avignon which is more urban. I highly recommend that you visit Arles. We just booked transportation there and back. Toured the site by ourselves.
We have spent a lot of time in Nice; the most time we spent there was two weeks. We saw places offering local walking tours. It is a wonderful base for exploring this beautiful area.

What tours in Paris have you booked? There are very few places that require a tour.

Also, Viator is a third party booking site. Always verify the company that is actually providing the service.

Are you using the Rick Steves France guidebook? He gives excellent advice about wonderful interesting sights and activities. That’s your best resource. I suggest you avoid third party vendors like Viator.

Dempseyf we are on this tour a week behind you. But May pass you in the Hotel Apollinaire as we are coming a week early. This is our 9th RS tour but 1st “My Way”. What day are you arriving Paris and departing Nice. What I have noticed is once you leave Paris there is not many actual hours to fill.
I can offer you my trips notes that are by each day. It is 9 pages of Things to and Restaurants suggestions from others. PM me and I can send you a link to my Word file.

jeanm the tours we've booked through Viator are:

Meeting a chef and going to their apartment for cooking class. We did something similar in Rome and loved it.
