Pre-RS Tour Covid Test Requirement

The RS website states,

"For tours starting May 20, 2022, and later, we're requiring pre-tour testing with a rapid self-test. Each tour member will need to show proof of a negative self-test taken within 24 hours of the first day of the tour, whether or not a test is required for entry into your arrival country."

How do you provide proof of a negative self-test and when and to whom do you provide it? I'll be in Paris the day before the tour starts. I already planned to bring several rapid self-test with me but do I take a photo of the test, bring it with me showing the results and do I provide it to the tour guide the day of the tour? what are the steps to take?

Thanks

Hello there . . . in our pre-trip counsel, it said to take a picture of the self-test. If that's not feasible, to bring the test itself to the guide on the meet-greet on Day 1. :)

We are on a tour that starts on September 7, and received the email with information as stated above about two days ago. RSE will inform you of the requirements prior to your departure.

I’ll just add that Covid self-test kits are readily available in French pharmacies if you decide you need more. I got a 5-pack but not sure how much they cost because as usual in a French pharmacy I bought stuff, lol!!

I don’t know where you are staying but there will no doubt be 2 pharmacies between your hotel and your Metro stop, lol.

Just got back from RS "Best of Ireland." Per the requirement, we took rapid tests in our room prior to the introductory meeting and brought the test strip (negative) to the meeting.

On my recent trip to Europe I showed my negative results to my guide prior to our first meeting. I also had to show her my vaccination card showing my vaccine status.

Got our email today for our 9/7 tour regarding testing requirements and masking. We will be taking several tests kits with us.

Free test kits are available at covid.gov/tests. You can order two kits for a total of 10 tests. The post office is coordinating . Mine arrived in about 2 weeks.

We’ve been home 2 weeks from Heart of Ireland tour. We took photos on our phones of our negative tests and brought the photos and our vaccination cards to the first tour meeting to show our guide. We had brought the tests from home and also had several others with us to use as needed.

on our tour last month the guide posted on a flyer by the front desk she'd be in a certain room at a given time before the introductory meeting. On check-in when we said we were with the RS group the staffer pointed out the sign to make sure we knew. We simply did the test that afternoon in our room and brought the test to the library.

This is directly from an email from RS office:

Pre-Tour COVID Test Required: Because we want to ensure the health and safety of your group — and provide a successful tour for you and each group member — we are requiring all tour members to complete a COVID test prior to joining their tour. Please bring a COVID self-test to take on the first day of your tour prior to the start of the welcome meeting. Take a photo of your test when the instructions indicate the results are ready, and show the photo and your CDC vaccine card to your guide prior to entering the meeting. If you do not have a camera please bring the test itself, showing the results, to the meeting. If you’ve had COVID between 14 and 90 days prior to the start of your tour, you’ll also need to bring a COVID recovery letter signed by your doctor, in case you continue to test positive.

va and Diane - we are on a BOI tour that starts 9/7 but have not gotten an email. Was there anything else of significance in the message? I'm wondering whether I should contact the office.

Jim, we are on the Portugal tour! The email was just a reminder of needing the first day test and that masks are required on the bus, indoors and in crowded outdoor settings. Nothing else.
Have a great trip.

I was on the Southern England tour that started June 27. I spent 3 days in London prior to the tour. The evening before the tour started, while still in London, I took my Covid test. I wanted to be sure that I was negative before traveling to Canterbury. I also figured that if my test was positive I’d have a better chance of finding a hotel in London than in Canterbury. I showed the photo of my negative test and vaccine card to our guide before the tour. There were only 16 on our tour and 5 wound up getting Covid. Everyone on our tour wore masks but nothing is 100% foolproof.
