Prague/Budapest Tour

On a waitlist for this tour. Preparing just in case.
WE would appreciate suggestions/ideas for free time. Should we plan on going out of city?
Thanks, Gladys

I did this tour in 2015 and loved it. I arrived in Prague one night early (stayed in an Airbnb apartment, having taken the train up from Vienna). I went with a little tour group to Terezin, called the family concentration camp because there were kids. In Prague with the RS group, we stayed at the Hotel Metamorphosis (cool little establishment. I had a great room!). The pizza place near the shopping mall was wonderful! On free time, I walked down from the castle on a beautiful day with some other group members and went to the garden with the peacocks (maybe the Wallenstein?). In Budapest, I went to the Szechenyi baths (take your swimsuit, flip flops, and a towel). Being interested in the Holocaust, I went to the Holocaust Museum in Budapest and went to see the bronze shoes on the Danube. The House of Terror was okay, largely about the Communists. I am recommending a friend see the synogogue and the Hospital in the Rock when she visits in October.

This question is for Fluffy: Did someone in your Rick Steve's tour group organize the trip to Terezin? I have booked a driver to go out to Terezin on our free afternoon in Prague and I am hoping that maybe 1-3 others on the Tour would want to join me. I am prepared to go alone, but it would be nice to share this experience with someone who is interested in the history of this place.

My wife and I visited Terezin with Wittmann Tours in Prague. They are, we understood in advance, among the best tour groups for visiting Jewish sights (to include the various sights in the Jewish Quarter). We were not disappointed. The tour of Terezin is crushingly sad, but our experience was enriched by guide Vida's wealth of knowledge, including her having grown up as Jew in Prague, whose family was directly affected by the Holocaust. Great insights on the history, as well as contemporary life in the Czech Republic.

Georgette, I went on my own with a group I found on Viator. Maybe you could either post something here with your tour dates to see if anyone is interested and/or announce it at the first meeting.
