Péter Pölczman Kudos!

My wife and I saw Péter Pölczman was a featured guide in the recent RS email. We had the benefit and pleasure of Péter as our guide a couple of years ago while on a Central European tour. He was excellent. The email features defined him very well. What was not noted in the review is how much he worked behind the scenes to make sure our tour was a success. Due to luck, or circumstances, I observed him firmly working with hotel staff a couple of times and a hired guide (for us) to make sure things were done or set right. He is a highly knowledgeable, low-key hard working guide that really delivered the goods.

I had Peter for a guide last year. He was an absolutely fabulous leader! I've now had four tours and the Eastern European one is my favorite - and a lot of that was due to Peter.

I have taken 14 RS tours. Peter is one of our best RS guides ever. He can stay at my house any time. charlie

I agree wholeheartedly. Peter is one of Rick Steves very top guides in my book. Truly an extraordinary guide who provided so much more than expected.

We want to add our "Amazing Peter" story to the litany.

Day Two of our RS Eastern European tour , my husband realizes that his phone has been left/lost/stolen somewhere on the Golden Lane . We retrace our steps-search , inquire- no luck.

When our group meets, we tell Peter of our loss
And he immediately runs back and rechecks. Voila, he returns with the cell phone-found at the restaurant we had already searched. He's wonderful.

The tour itself is fantastic and with Peter it's fantastic++++++.

I think your question can be answered at Peter's website for his guide service

As for the Eastern European tour , it has overnights in 5 Central European countries, Czech Republic, Poland , Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia plus a stop in Slovakia. Peter does a fantastic 10 point history lesson on each country that is succinct, respectful, informative and interesting. Each talk is a gem of history.

You learn a lot on the tour

Thanks Jennifer! I would definitely consider Peter for some day trips in Hungary (I've been to the other countries you named and grew up in Poland under communist times).
