Park Guell on RS Barcelona/Madrid tour

Greetings,

We are on the Oct. 2-9 Barcelona/Madrid tour. The itinerary suggests that the group will have some time at Park Guell, but no details beyond that mention. For anyone who's been on that tour lately, how much time did the group spend there? I understand that you need advance tickets for some parts of the park. Did the tour include that or should we look to make our own arrangements?

Thanks for any advice and information.

Cheers,
stoutfella

We were on the Best of Spain tour and tickets to the park were not included. Advanced tickets were required for entry. We did not have them so missed out and we're sorry that we did. We saw part of the park from a trail on the periphery without the tickets and it is spectacular. Well worth the time and effort.

Just to be clear, while a visit to Park Guell is NOT included in the Best of Spain tour, it IS included on the Barcelona/Madrid tour itinerary.

I did the BAM tour in May. We did visit Park Guell and the admission was included in the tour. We spent about 90 minutes there with the local guide.

Stoutfella, we will be on that tour the same time as you and I had the same question. Thanks for asking it!

We were on the Barcelona/Madrid tour at the end of May and spent about 1.5 hours at Park Güell. I thought it was sufficient time, but it was our second visit. We also booked Casa Batlló, which isn't included in the tour. Enjoy your tour!

Thanks to all for the assistance. While we'll probably wish we had more time at Park Guell, we'll plan to content ourselves with the group visit rather than go twice on the same trip.

catherine: If you're on the Oct. 2-9 tour, I look forward to meeting you. It'll be our fourth Rick Steves tour and we've always had great groups to travel with.
