Paris museum and Metro pass duration

Greetings,

I'll probably make a phone call to ask this question, but just thought I'd throw it out here to see if anyone had a quick answer.

We'll be on the June 7-13 Best of Paris tour, which ends after breakfast on Saturday, June 13. Do the included museum and Metro passes expire that morning or would we be able to use them the rest of that day, since that day is officially included as part of the tour, even though organized activities end in the morning?

Cheers.

The tour is providing the same passes that other travelers can buy, not modified for our tour. The metro pass is for 7 days, always Monday-Sunday. The museum pass is for 6 consecutive days that start with the date of first use, which will be Tour Day 2 (Monday), when you visit Sainte-Chapelle. Therefore, both should be valid all day on Saturday, June 13.

Well, that answers that, and a good answer it is. Thanks, Laura!

We'll be staying in France that Saturday. Originally, we were going to take a day trip to Normandy beaches, but track maintenance may have put the kibosh on that. So we'll either plan for another day trip or just stay in the city, in which case we'd get some more use out of the passes.

Cheers!

As the tour info from the RS office says, you will need a passport sized photo for the Metro pass so make sure you either take an extra one with you or photocopy your picture page in your passport. I somehow overlooked this instruction (as did others on my Best of Paris tour) but the hotel was quite happy to make a photocopy of my passport photo. Don't cut it down until you get there as your guide will have scissors and a template to use to make it the right size to stick on the Pass. It is a bit smaller than our passport photos so most of us wound up with some hair being cut off. (The picture, not in person!)

In fact, I would just go copy that photo page right now and put it in your pile of stuff. You DO have a spare bedroom dedicated to this venture, don't you? lol!!

Being provided both the Metro pass and the museum pass was wonderful! It made me realize that if I go back to Paris for a week, I will try to time it so I can take advantage of reloading the pass for my use.

Thanks for the reminder, Pam. I can see where the extra photos would be an easily overlooked detail.

I agree that having these passes provided as part of the tour is just one more reason that we're looking forward to our trip. Whether we end up using them on our extra day or not, I'm sure we'll still try to take full advantage of them on our free afternoons.

Cheers!
