Paris: Le-Bus Direct to CDG

Does anyone have any experience taking Le-Bus Direct to CDG? I'll be at the Hotel Londres Eiffel, and it looks like the stop is close to the hotel.

Will you be there at the end of a tour? The reason I ask is, if so, your tour guide will help arrange airport transport at the end of the tour and help match up other tour members that need to go the airport at the same time with you. 6 of us shared a town at a price of about 15 euros each. Good price and very convenient.

Also, the concierges at Hotel Londres Eiffel are great about calling a taxi for you if that’s what you want to do — when I stayed there in the summer of 2017, on the morning I checked out, they had a cab there within probably 20 minutes, and I took it straight to CDG.

I have stayed at the Hotel Londres Eiffel and the staff is great about calling a taxi. There are no concierges there but the front desk staff will help you. I would not take Le Bus Direct to CDG because it is subject to surface traffic without the flexibility of a car (taxi). In addition specifically with respect to Hotel Londres Eiffel, the stop on Rue Jean Rey is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. I don't consider that close if you have luggage.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions and information. I will be there at the end of my tour, so I will most likely ask the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport for our departure.

I looked at where the Le Bus Direct bus stop is and it's a bit of a hike with luggage from Londres Eiffel. You'd cut thru the Champ de Mars which is fine but the Roma girls hang out there and you need to be not distracted with luggage and way-finding. They are not dangerous but they are pickpockets and they are effective because they play on vulnerabilities.

I also agree that your guide will check to see what time people have flights out and may offer to match people up with similar departure times. You can also easily have the Reception folks call you a taxi - you just let them know the night before. No need to do this any earlier than the night before!

BTW, the owners have a very neat yellow lab named Samba who comes to visit, lol!!

You should hold off on booking anything until you have spoken with your tour guide. He/she can arrange for shared cabs with other tour members and save you all money.

Thank you for the additional information and suggestions. We have a 10:30 am flight back to the US. How far in advance should we get to the airport? I understand it will take about an hour to get to GDC.

Here is my disclaimer: I would always feel better being early than late....

I try to allow 2.5 -3 hours prior to an international flight. Remember, you may get pulled for secondary screening and they actually start boarding the plane about an hour prior to take off.

I want to be at CDG 3 hours before my flight departs. I've used almost every bit of that time and other times I've had a gracious plenty at the departure gate. The vehicular traffic outside CDG is awful. Better to get there and have time for a croissant and coffee when you are thru passport exit control and security than to be late.

I would leave at 6:30 for a 1030 flight.

The street in front of Londres Eiffel is one way going to the right as you come out the front door. The street it dead ends in to, Rue Saint-Dominique, is one way to the right as well. Last time I stayed at Londres Eiffel and had them call me a taxi for the train station, there was a slight traffic jam as everyone lined up behind the garbage truck going down the street and yes, had to turn right. That was later in the AM and you won't have any trouble at 630 as it's before garbage pickup - just mentioning things that can happen to eat time away.

My thoughts exactly. I'll probably aim for catching a cab at 6 am to arrive at CDG by 7 am. I'm flying home on a Saturday, so perhaps early morning traffic will be light. One can only hope!

There may also be others in your group that have 10-ish departure times as well. There are often a whole bunch of flights leaving CDG for US destinations around the same time - for instance, Delta has flights out at 1010 to SLC, 1015 to MSP, 1020 to SEA, 1035 to ATL!
