Update: I just received my refund minus a PayPal fee. I don't know how the refund would have been processed without my PayPal account. Has anyone had trouble getting a tour refund? We originally booked the tour for May 2020 but could not travel because of COVID. The company extended our tour tickets first through 12/31/2021 then through 12/31/2022. We have received our cancellation acknowledgement shortly after we cancelled. We cancelled a May, 2022 tour in early April and have been having a real problem getting a tour. The tour company informed us that they did not have the means to refund directly to our credit card but rather to a PayPal account. We do have a PayPal account but it was not used to book the tour. Anyone have any ideas?
Why can't you let them send you the refund through your PayPal account?
That is actually what I am trying to do. On their first try, they informed me that my PayPal account wold accept only USD?!
The sender can designate the currency, so ask them to send (or have PayPal convert to $) their Euros.
I got the refund. PayPal charged me a fee and asked for my tax info before they would transfer the money to my bank account. What is amazing to me is that a company can accept your credit card for payment but can not issue a refund to the same card. Remember that I did not use PayPal for the initial purchase!
