Paris and Heart of France Tour

I am a female traveling alone on the trip and was wondering if there are any other single travelers who might want to connect before we depart.

jholland50, welcome to the forum and you will love this tour. But there are about 34 dates for this tour this year, so you probably want to say which one you're on.

I went on this tour as a solo traveler in 2018 and had a great time. I quickly learned that I needed to speak up and let people know if I was interested in doing something with others. For example: Dinner. Once I learned to ask, "Is anyone interested in going to dinner?" I found that I had as many dining companions as I could want.

Definitely list your date of the the tour but don't be surprised if you don't get a response. Not because people aren't friendly, but because not that many read the forums.

Hi Cindy,

I am Jan and live in Houston Texas. I have been to Paris for one day 20 years ago and this is my first RS tour. Are you scheduling anything for your time off?

For you new folks, note that you can use the private messaging system here to keep your conversations private, and if you want to exchange more personal info. Just click on the posters name (in blue) and you can see option to send message. If someone sends you one, it will show at top right of page (on computer) that you have one unread.

Fun that you both are going to be on the tour! I hope you will be able to arrive the day before to give yourselves a head start on adjusting to jet lag.

This is a wonderful tour and wow, Giverny will be beautiful when you are there!

You didn't ask....but I do suggest having a waterPROOF jacket with a hood.

I second what Pam said about going early, and about the waterproof jacket with a hood. I did not take one when we did this tour in 2019, but I did buy one there at one of those wonderful European roadside diner/rest stops. We were there in May, and while some days were sunny and warm, others were wet, windy, and cold. I was especially glad to have the jacket at the Normandy beaches.

We are also on the 22 April-2 May Paris and Heart of France tour. We are taking the April 4-17 Greece tour. I look forward to meeting both of you. This will be our tenth RS tour. They are wonderful.

I have easily spent a whole day in the Louvre and in the d’Orsay before. I personally think you’ve overbooked yourself on Day 4-5 because of that. Make sure you have good walking shoes. No restaurant recommendations, I’ve never been to the same place twice in the several times I’ve been to Paris. I usually just stumble into a place that looks good with open seating with good people watching. Be sure to book Versailles and Louvre ASAP if you haven’t yet.

I'm wondering if Mickykanju posted on the wrong thread since they referred to overbooking on Days 4 and 5. The tour days are not really overbooked.

Also, no need to try and purchase a ticket to the Louvre as that is included in the tour.

Hi Jan, I wonder if you have gotten any of my private messages? I am going to Paris a few days early and staying one extra day at the end. Cindy from Michigan
