Nov..4 th Scilily Tour

Hello fellow travelers from Massachusetts and New Hampshire,
I plan to arrive 24 hours before the scheduled orientation gathering. Will anyone else arrive in Palermo around 3:30 PM on Sat. Nov. 3rd and want to share a taxi from the airport?
Also. anyone from this tour want to meet for breakfast on Sun. Nov. 4th?
What are you planning to do during the day on Nov..4th?

Welcome to the forum, apgoulder!
Unfortunately, very few tour participants read/post in the forum. Hopefully you will get some answers.

In the meantime, did you know you can edit your post to fix the title?

I’m doing the November 2nd tour - so I’ll be at that hotel at the same time as you but already taking part in the tour plans! I’m coming in 3 days early and found a nice amount of sites in Palermo. The tour doesn’t go to the Norman Palace so that’s on my list. It also doesn’t go to the No Mafia memorial museum - which looks interesting. https://www.nomafiamemorial.org/

Valerie, you probably already know about the monument to justice Falcone on the roadside from the airport where they blew up his car, but I didn’t know ahead of time and didn’t realize what it was when we passed it. We did the No Mafia tour before we started the RS tour.

I’ll keep an eye out for it! It always cracks me up that you lived in Steilacoom:)

We (my daughter and I) will arrive November 14th. Our RS Best of Sicily tour is 11/16-11/26 and we plan to stay until the 27th actually flying back to Tampa Florida on the 28th from Istanbul. Last year, I started a Rick Steves Best of Sicily 11-Day Tour 2025 on FB. I have been researching everything Sicily and had hoped some of my group members would had showed up there; that is why I made it for the whole 2025. The probability of finding group members is slim to none due to living all over the world. I am excited that you are reaching Sicily before we do and hopefully will share a few things about Sicily in the near future. Nice to know other just like me are trying to reach out before the actual tour. I have spent considerable amount of time in researching Sicily and a few extra dollars to help make this mother and daughter vacation as memorable as possible. Even after all the research there is still so much more that is packaged into Sicily. Our itinerary is over 12 pages long. Rick Steves never recommends trying to fill everyday this full, but I am a hopelessly organizer, OCD, Type A personality and of course a work alcoholic that I could not contain myself once I started the planning process last year. At least I can honestly say my heart was always in the right place when considering my travel partner is my daughter.

We did that tour in March. It is dead simple (and cheap) to take the train from the airport to the train station downtown. If they are in the same hotel we are, it is a three block walk to the hotel, and you will be doing the walk when you catch the bus to Monreale as well as when you leave town.
