Norway in a Nutshell after Scandinavian tour?

Has anybody done this?
I'm running through ideas after the Scandinavian tour July 2023.
It seems likely I will need to travel to Oslo for a flight after the tour ends in Bergen. Would doing the nutshell tour back to Oslo be repetitive? I'm thinking the scenery might be worth it, and maybe taking more than a day.

I was also considering some sort of puffin oriented side trip, but haven't found just the thing.

Why not? Or just take the train from Bergen to Oslo and enjoy the views.

We took a cruise out of Copenhagen to all the big Scandinavian cities (including St. Petersburg.) Then we flew on Norwegian Air Shuttle over to Oslo (1 hour). After an overnight stay, we got on the Norway in a Nutshell trip by train.

The highlight of the trip was the one hour train ride down into the fjords. Then we caught a high speed ferry that ended in Bergen. .

We really enjoyed the City of Bergen. I can honestly say they have the most beautiful people we've ever seen anywhere--very tall and blond. And they were very accommodating.

We flew from Bergen home--connecting through Oslo. It cost about the same as airfare from Oslo so there's no reason to backtrack.

We did the Norway in a Nutshell after our RS Scandinavia tour and loved it. We had a cool and drizzly trip through the fjords on the tour and spectacular sunshine on the NIN trip—random chance. The time in Flom was fun and the cog train beautiful. We were in late August and the last part of the train trip got dark.
Was it worth the travel day?—Yes!
